How to submit an application - step by step

1. Preparation of the application

   First, you must prepare an appropriate application, which includes:

   • Your personal and address details.

   • Information on the basis on which you have the right to submit an application, e.g. as a building owner or manager.

   • Number of the energy performance certificate in the central register.

2. Ways to submit an application

   You can submit an application in several ways:

   • Personally at the Ministry of Development and Technology.

   • By letter by sending the application to the following address: pl. Trzech Krzyży 3/5, 00-507 Warsaw.

   • Electronically, using an electronic signature, which is the most convenient and fastest way.

3. Attaching documents

   It is worth attaching copies of the questioned certificate to the application. If you use a proxy, you also need a power of attorney and confirmation of payment of the stamp duty for granting it.

What happens next?

After submitting the application, the Ministry will check its completeness. If there are any formal deficiencies, you will be asked to correct them. You will have at least 7 days to deliver them. The ministry then proceeds to verify the certificate, checking its correctness and reliability. This process may take up to 12 months.
